Muhorro Town Council approves 2022-2023 Budget
Muhorro Town Council (MTC) has approved the budget for the 2022-2023 financial year.
The function took place on 24th May 2022 at MTC Community Hall in Muhorro Town Council, Kagadi District.
The MTC speaker Hon. Ataho Balisanyuka Fredrick acknowledged members for attending the council. He also thanked the NRM cocas actively participating in the cocas meeting.
A budget worth UGX 396,973,678 was presented by the Secretary for Finance Hon. Kasaija Muryaburo who said that all the Town Council priorities have been well captured in the budget and distributed according to national aspirations and MTC theme. The budget was approved by the council with amendments.
The Council also passed a resolution on the following;
- Face-lifting of all commercial buildings in the Town Council within 90 days,
- Vacating all people sleeping inside the market,
- Procurement of a dumping site for garbage,
- Arresting school dropouts, among others.
Meanwhile the Muhorro Town Council District Councilor who also doubles as the District Speaker for Kagadi Hon. Magezi Muwonge pledged to conduct a capacity building session for all Councilors on how to table a motion on the floor of the council and how it is concluded.
He also updated council that in the next financial year, Butumba and Karalike Cells will get one borehole each, and Muhorro Muslim Primary School will get a 3 classroom block due to the increasing number of pupils in that school.
The council was also attended by MTC Technical Staff and the general public.
