Have integrity as you execute the Census Exercise

The Muhorro Town Council Mayor Hon. Nangonza Godfrey has called upon the Census Enumeration Supervisors and Enumerators to handle the census exercise with the highest level of integrity.

He said this on 30th April, 2024 while addressing Enumeration Supervisors and Enumerators selected to conduct the census exercise for Muhorro Town Council.

Nangonza said that there are many graduates out there with Degrees, Masters, and PhDs but organizations and companies are looking for employees with integrity.

You may not be the best candidate among the hundreds who applied for the position of Enumeration Supervisor and Enumerator. You only got lucky and went through. Don’t waste this opportunity. Utilize it, do your best, network with your colleagues because you don’t know what tomorrow brings.

He called upon the Census officials to diligently conduct the upcoming Census exercise so that the government makes data-driven planning and decision-making.

He encouraged participants to ask as many questions as they could during this training so that at the end of the Census exercise, Muhorro Town Council emerges as the best in Kagadi district.

Meanwhile, the Census Supervisor for Muhorro Town Council, Mr. Isingoma John called upon participants to take the training seriously and added that Enumerators who will not attend the training or miss some days, will automatically be disqualified and will immediately be replaced.

He added that during the training, there shall not be a weekend or public holiday and advised Enumerators who feel they cannot abide by the rules and regulations governing the Census exercise to withdraw early enough so that they can be replaced.

The training for  Census Enumeration Supervisors and Enumerators has started on the 30th April 2024 and will run for nine days.  

About Census: The National Population and Housing Census (NPHC) is the major source of demographic and socioeconomic statistics in Uganda, periodically conducted at intervals of approximately ten years. The country will be conducting the next  Census in 2024 and Enumeration will begin on 10th May to 19th May 2024. This census will collect household-based data on population, housing, and agriculture.

In addition, data will be collected on the floating population, the population in transit, the institutional population, the population that spent the census night in hotels and other accommodation infrastructure as well as community–based data.
